Bills & Overtures Committee

Purpose: to instruct Presbytery about proposed changes to the Form of Government and legislation coming down from Synod and General Assembly that requires Presbytery’s action. Through this instruction, Presbytery is empowered to be more open to the guiding of the Holy Spirit as it seeks to govern Christ’s Church here in Monmouth County.

We meet to discuss actions that are coming before Presbytery so that we can make recommendations, offering guidance. We also discuss methods for instruction and voting that will be helpful for building the Body of Christ.

Most of the Committee is made up of former delegates to the General Assembly so that their insights from the discussions at that level can offer guidance to the committee.
