Matawan FPC Mission Peacebuilding Luncheon on Civil Dialogue
Sunday April 7, 2019 from 12-2 pm in Fellowship Hall
883 Hwy 34, Matawan, NJ, 07747
This event is intentionally non-partisan and apolitical. Rather the intention is to help us transcend the current political divide in the USA, namely how to rise above the fray and maintain healthy relationships in spite of deep differences. And what you will learn can be applied to almost any group or interpersonal conflict. Joe Ritacco, of the FPC Mission Commission and the MCWRET, will deliver a background presentation that will include a short video on what you might think would be an unlikely successful example of civil dialogue. Our objective is to motivate us to listen to the “better angels” of our nature and learn some basic “how-to” s. You will be given the opportunity to practice using some safe questions.
A light lunch will be served at noon before the presentation starts. Due to room size constraints, this invitation is extended only to the Monmouth Center for World Religions and Ethical Thought and to members of the Monmouth Presbytery. (For those in the Presbytery who may have heard presentation by Joe at the Nov. 2018 Presbytery meeting, this event will include a video and an opportunity to practice.)
So that we can provide an appropriate amount of food, please RSVP by email to Joe at [email protected] with following info by March 31.
