Pt. Pleasant Volunteer Village, Still Open for Business

The Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group is the last LTRG left standing in New Jersey, and is still able to hook volunteer groups up with jobs to help survivors get back into their homes.

Nearly 4 years after SuperStorm Sandy, New Jersey’s RREM (Sandy Recovery) grant program reports that only about ½ of the 7,700 grant supported homes have been rebuilt (http://www.renewjerseystronger.org/ – 8/1/2016). And this statistic only takes into account those homeowners who successfully navigated into the grant program.
The need for volunteers is still great. Email the PDA Call Center at pda.callcenter@pcusa.org to find out more information about the volunteer opportunities in New York and New Jersey. (Photo shared by Joan Otto, taken at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church)
