Job Title: Visitation Pastor (10 month position, September-June)
Salary in the range of $15000 per year

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ordination
  • Sensitivity to pastoral needs of sick/aging congregation members and compassion, enthusiasm, and positive outlook
  • Commitment of approximately 10-15 (mostly) daytime hours per week

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Home visitation with members in need of pastoral care
  • Hospital visitation with members; coordination of hospital visitation by volunteers
  • Provision of quarterly communion service to shut-in members
  • Pastoral leadership to Committee on Older Adults Ministries; assistance in planning and implementation of activities
  • Provide support for the Board of Deacons

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties may be required on occasion at the request of the Head of Staff/Pastor:

  • Pastoral leadership of funerals/ memorial services
  • Pastoral leadership in worship, occasional preaching
  • Occasional participation in staff meetings

The Visitation Pastor will report regularly to the pastor/head of staff and will keep a log of hours worked. Compensation for the position will be in the range of $15000 per annum. This is a 10 month position, serving from September through June (July and August off), with an additional 2 weeks of vacation and no additional benefits. This position will be reviewed after the initial 6-month period and otherwise covered by a one-year contract, renewable annually by mutual agreement.
