New Brunswick Theological Seminary leaves ‘Holy Hill’ to make way for Rutgers expansion

New Brunswick-  Carrying crosses, books, calculators and other symbols of their work, professors and staff members from New Brunswick Theological Seminary marched down “Holy Hill” today as the nation’s oldest Protestant religious training school begins a new era.

The seminary, which has been located on a hill over the Raritan River since 1856, moved into a new building on College Avenue. Its old headquarters and much of its campus have been sold in a deal that will allow neighboring Rutgers University to expand its campus.
