Stopping to think . . . about your hunger ministry

Use this tool to help evaluate you congregation’s hunger ministry.

Just about every congregation has responded to Jesus’ call to feed hungry people – which means just about every congregation knows that there is always more to do than there is time to do it. Gathering food, soliciting donations, scheduling volunteers, and “telling the story” can take up every available moment – leaving little time to evaluate what and how we are doing.

Stopping to Think is one of the Hunger Ministry Series from the Presbyterian Hunger Program. It’s a conversation starter intended to help program staff, volunteers, boards, mission committees, and sessions begin to ask themselves some important questions about their hunger ministries. The booklet Stopping to Think is an “oldie but goodie” that includes 7 simple questions and a Bible study to help you think.
