Celebrating 100 Earth Care Congregations at General Assembly!

Can you help? PCUSA Environmental Ministries hopes to lift up and celebrate the first 100 (or more) wonderful Earth Care Congregations certified by PCUSA Environmental Ministries by the Assembly. Currently there are 87 (3 are in Monmouth Presbytery) and are hoping to grow this list in the next 6 weeks to reach our goal. Will your church be one of these 100 Earth Care Congregations? All it takes is 1 or 2 dedicated creation-lovers to make it happen!

Is your church active in earth care or interested in becoming more involved in being stewards of God’s earth? To become certified as Earth Care Congregations churches take the “Earth Care Pledge” and complete activities and projects in the fields of worship, education, facilities and outreach. “A Guide to Greening Presbyterian Churches” provides congregations with worksheets, resources and instructions for becoming an Earth Care Congregation. (Use earth-care-guidebook-2 to find ideas for earth care projects and to become certified as an Earth Care Congregation through Environmental Ministries.)

Our presbytery has three congregations that have been certified as Earth Care congregations? They are Trinity (East Brunswick), Jacksonvile, and Plumsted (New Egypt). Contact Phyllis Zoon 201-910-7047 or email [email protected] for help.
